Apparently I have trouble tying shoelace knots, because on more than one occasion, I've had my shoelaces come undone during a road race. As you can imagine, it's pretty annoying, because the choice is either to lose momentum -- and a bit of time -- by stopping to re-tie said shoelace, or to run the rest of the race with laces flopping about with every step.
